The problem

Dead Zones Are a Cellular Problem, Not a Wi-Fi Problem

Your building might have great Wi-Fi and still have guests holding phones over their heads by the elevator. That's because a phone call rides the cellular network, and cellular signal dies inside dense construction: concrete cores, metal decking, lower floors, and back-of-house. Adding more access points doesn't fix it, because the phone isn't trying to use your Wi-Fi for the call in the first place.

Carrier Wi-Fi offloading closes that gap with Passpoint (Hotspot 2.0). Once provisioned, compatible phones on major carriers automatically and securely roam onto your Wi-Fi the moment they step indoors, so calls and data ride the network you already control. No app, no password, no dropped call between the lobby and the parking deck.

How the Program Works

  • Your venue gets coverage. The benefit is reliable in-building cellular coverage for guests, staff, and tenants, not income. Your building never earns money from the program.
  • We design & install the Passpoint network. Enterprise Passpoint-capable access points, VLAN isolation, and symmetrical bandwidth, engineered around your actual dead zones.
  • Our carrier-offload program handles the carrier side. We coordinate the carrier side end-to-end so compatible phones offload automatically. You never have to contact a carrier yourself.
  • Low upfront cost, subsidized build. The coverage upgrade carries a low, reduced upfront cost, not free, because carrier offload revenue offsets much of the rest.

Who qualifies

Venues That Fit the Program

The best candidates are buildings with genuine indoor dead zones and enough people passing through to make coverage matter. Three types come up most often across Middle Tennessee.

Candidates Typically Have

  • A larger building footprint or multiple floors
  • High device density from guests, staff, or tenants
  • Known indoor cellular dead zones people already complain about
  • Feasible access to symmetrical business fiber at the property

Not sure whether your building qualifies? The free coverage assessment settles it: no numbers guessed over the phone.

Local coverage

Carrier Offloading Across Middle Tennessee

ICTAlly designs and installs carrier Wi-Fi offloading for buildings across the Nashville metro and roughly a 65 km ring around it, from Brentwood and Franklin to Murfreesboro and out to Columbia. If your hotel, warehouse, or multi-tenant building has indoor dead zones, we can map them.

Coverage doesn't stop at the state line: we also serve Bowling Green, Kentucky. Wherever your property sits in that footprint, the first step is the same: a free coverage assessment that tells you honestly whether the program is a fit, at a low, subsidized upfront cost if it is.

How it works

From Assessment to Managed Coverage

STEP 01

Free Coverage Assessment

We walk your building to map indoor cellular dead zones, check construction and device density, and confirm whether it qualifies for the program. The assessment is free and comes with a scoped, subsidized upfront cost before anything is installed.

STEP 02

Network Design & Carrier Coordination

We design a Passpoint (Hotspot 2.0) network sized to your floors and coverage gaps, then coordinate the carrier side end-to-end through our carrier-offload program so compatible phones on major carriers offload automatically. No work on your end.

STEP 03

Installation

We install enterprise Passpoint-capable access points, isolate offload traffic on its own VLAN, and provision symmetrical bandwidth so indoor coverage holds up during peak hours without touching your business network.

STEP 04

We Manage It & Handle the Carrier Side

We monitor the network 24/7, keep the Passpoint provisioning and carrier side running end-to-end, and tune coverage over time. Your venue simply keeps the coverage: no carrier relationship to manage.

FAQ

Carrier Offloading Questions

What is carrier Wi-Fi offloading?
Carrier Wi-Fi offloading uses Passpoint (Hotspot 2.0) so that phones on major carriers automatically and securely roam onto your building's Wi-Fi the moment they walk indoors: no app, no password, no manual network selection. Instead of straining against a weak cellular signal, calls and data ride your on-site Wi-Fi. The result is dependable indoor coverage in the exact spots where the cell network struggles: back-of-house, lower floors, elevators, and metal-clad warehouse interiors.
Does my venue pay for this?
The coverage assessment is free. The build itself carries a low, subsidized upfront cost. It is not free and not $0, but it is priced well below a standalone enterprise Wi-Fi project because carrier offload revenue offsets much of the remaining cost through our carrier-offload program. We scope the exact numbers for your building after the assessment, so you know the investment before anything is installed.
Will this make my building money?
No, and we want to set that expectation clearly. Carrier offloading is a coverage program, not an income stream. The benefit to your venue is reliable in-building cellular coverage for guests, staff, and tenants, delivered at a reduced upfront cost because carrier revenue subsidizes the build. Your building does not earn a check from it; it gets coverage.
What venues qualify?
Good candidates are buildings with real indoor cellular dead zones and enough foot traffic to matter: hotels, warehouses and industrial facilities, and multi-tenant or retail buildings are the most common fits. Qualification is qualitative: we look at building size and number of floors, construction materials that block signal, device density, known indoor dead zones, and whether symmetrical business fiber is feasible at the property. The free assessment confirms whether your building qualifies.
Will the install disrupt my building or operations?
No shutdown required. We schedule cabling and access-point mounting around your hours and work back-of-house first, and the offload network runs on its own isolated VLAN. It never touches your existing business or guest Wi-Fi. Most buildings see zero downtime.
Which carriers does it work with?
Passpoint is an industry standard supported by the major carriers, so compatible phones offload automatically once the network is provisioned. We coordinate the carrier side end-to-end through our carrier-offload program: you do not have to contact any carrier yourself. We keep the specifics carrier-agnostic and handle the enrollment and provisioning as part of the project.
How is this different from a cellular DAS?
A DAS (distributed antenna system) rebroadcasts licensed cellular signal indoors using dedicated head-end equipment and antennas. It is expensive, carrier-specific, and slow to approve. Carrier Wi-Fi offloading takes a different path: it moves the phone onto your Wi-Fi using Passpoint instead of amplifying the cellular signal. That means a faster, lower-cost deployment on enterprise Wi-Fi hardware you also get to use for your business network, not a separate cellular infrastructure build.
Do you serve Bowling Green, KY?
Yes. ICTAlly serves the Nashville metro and roughly a 65 km ring across Middle Tennessee, and we also cover Bowling Green, Kentucky. If your hotel, warehouse, or multi-tenant building sits anywhere in that footprint, we can run a free coverage assessment.
