New Construction Cabling Questions

What does low voltage rough-in include?
Low voltage rough-in is the installation of cabling and conduit during the construction phase — before drywall goes up. This includes running Cat6 cables from a structured media panel to each drop location, camera pre-wire, access control door prep, and speaker wiring. All cables are labeled and secured to studs or joists, ready for trim-out after the walls are finished.
Do you provide a COI for general contractors?
Yes. We carry full general liability and workers’ compensation insurance on every project. We can provide a Certificate of Insurance (COI) same-day — just let us know who to list as the certificate holder and we’ll have it sent over before we start.
Can you work alongside our electrical crew?
Absolutely. We coordinate directly with your electrician and other subs to avoid conflicts in the walls and ceilings. We follow NEC separation requirements for low voltage and power cabling and can schedule our rough-in around your build timeline.
What’s included in the trim-out?
Trim-out happens after drywall, paint, and flooring are complete. We terminate all cable runs at the structured media panel and at each outlet location, install wall plates, test every connection, and provide documentation. The result is a fully functional, tested cabling system ready for equipment.
How do you handle change orders during construction?
Construction plans change — we get it. If you need additional drops, camera locations, or scope changes mid-build, we’ll provide a quick quote for the additional work and can usually accommodate changes within the same visit. No surprises on billing.
Do you handle both residential and commercial rough-in?
Yes. Our residential builder package covers tract homes and custom builds. For commercial new construction — restaurants, offices, industrial facilities, multi-family — we provide custom bids based on the scope. Commercial projects start at $500.
